Woah there buddy, easy on the anger. I can see you have put yourself up there on a self righteous pedestal, but attacking people who do not confront you in such a manner, does not become you brother.

1). Listing statistics from sources that directly benefit from the flow of money from the biggest pharm companies in the world... should I even need to say.

2). Debt based system delusion? You can honestly take a look out your window and say that? I don't need to have studied economics (which I have) to know that we have a failing and corrupt monetary system, and have done so since the Mesopotamian Empire, particularly since the Babylonians took power.

3). Wikipedia is banned by many institutions of learning (college / university level) around the world. In fact, the last two schools of medicine I studied at prohibited the use of Wikipedia across all essays, assignments, case studies etc. They use an algorithm or 'scraper' if you will, to scan Wikipedia parallel to your own completed works. If there are corresponding / copied paragraphs, or if they determine you have paraphrased a certain percentage of data... sorry, but you're rewriting everything. Not only that, but professors the world over have banned the use of Wikipedia in their classrooms. A brief search on the internet will tell you as much.

I can surmise by your rants that you loathe 'conspiracy theorist's' but just like them, you seem to lump everyone with a conflicting point of view or interest, into the same ugly pie. Alex Jones? I cant stand the man. Can't stand his violent aggressive demeanor or his sardonic, protagonist nature. The only time I've ever listened to him is when my flatmate would leave his door open, as he wouldn't quit listening to his radio show 24/7. Equally (this sentence is of my own accord), I don't pay attention to people like David Icke or Peter Joseph (although they do have a few good ideas). My research and passion for such (which is over half my life time) goes a bit deeper than Alex Jones and YouTube videos.

Funny, I actually praised your research. Good one on seeing 'red' mate, maybe you should take a look inwards, perhaps take up meditation?

So Iam, I have proof here that anti-vaxxers are obviously doing the bidding of Big Pharma. Obviously, Paul Offit, WHO and IMS (have no idea what you have against them probably just because you have no clue) are standing up to the world conspiracy run by Big Pharma, the Illuminati, and the world wide Orange alumni association.

1. Your "debt system" conspiracy delusion has nothing to do with this story. Go to Infowars if you want to talk that shit.
2. Wikipedia is NOT banned by medical institutions. Any conclusion I make is based on peer-reviewed articles. I use Wikipedia as a dictionary for more complex terms. I'm not going to explain what risk capital is. I'm going to use Wikipedia, but only if I have read the article. Almost all Wikipedia articles I reference on anything on this blog site was written or edited by me. But again, it is not used to make the salient points, just to give a quick link to an article about the brain. Of course, if you had critical reading skills you'd understand that, but with your head so far up the ass of Alex Jones and Fox News, it's hard to converse with you.

Part of what you're saying is true. Some vaccines don't work as well as others, but that's the point of science. Constantly improving. The original polio vaccine, given orally, nearly needed the disease, but still wasn't the best way to deliver or stop the disease. So they made a better injectable one.

Vaccines very very very rarely have serious side effects. But guess what? Chicken pox has serious side effects a lot less rarely than the vaccine. And treating chicken pox is nearly impossible. It's a virus that once it enters the body, does it's thing until the immune system destroys "most" of it. Some of it stays in the neural bundle at the base of the spinal cord, only to reappear later as a new chickenpox infection, often called shingles, which is a worse, more dangerous, more painful version of the disease. Stopping chickenpox stops shingles.

With just a handful of people with these mystery symptoms, you could probably find 100 common factors, none of which can be shown to be causal. And what about the hundreds of kids who used the soccer field and are quite normal? How about that? Oh, yeah, you haven't a clue as to how epidemiology is studied. Once again, bring peer-reviewed articles published in high impact factor journals or STFU.

Seriously, you need to get a better handle on real science. There are no FDA websites (but one), called VAERS, which reports whatever people THINK happened, not anything evidence based or causal. Vaccines are completely safe, as shown by hundreds of clinical trials. However, your statements are unsupported by anything scientific. So, bring real science, or STFU, because you are clueless.

Nice article, and that's coming from someone who will never immunize his children.

I almost stopped reading though when you used IMS, WHO and Paul Offit as sources of information for outlining vaccine profits. Also, all money funneled through the current debt based system of trading, and data gleaned from such, will always be highly suspect to me.

I guess if you want to make serious profits from such a historically 'un-bankable' sector, one way is to ramp up the fear, push incentives, lobby government with hundreds of millions per day etc, which surprise surprise, is exactly what is happening.

As a side note, there is a reason why Wikipedia is now banned by medical institutions / schools of learning, the world over, as a credible source of information (just thought I'd chuck that in there).

Kelly M. Bray - You obviously lean towards the Allopathic / Western form of medicine and treatment, and thats ok. And to be honest, 'alternative' or 'natural' medicine has of course seen big business take an interest, and large corporations are making tidy sums. That does not mean however that it is ineffective or should not be an option for treatment.

From the kids I have raised, to friends and family, by and large we all eat organic and travel the route of natural medicine, and illness rarely touches us (my generation are hitting the ceiling of 40). I have been to the doctors once in the last 13 years. The only reason I would use allopathic / western medicine is if I need a specific diagnoses and/or use of specialized equipment, of if I need something specific surgery. Most other aspects of poor health, Mother Nature attends to, no prob.

As for the monetary side of the coin, I agree that there needs to be tighter regulation concerning the commercial sale of 'natural' remedies. Big business has taken the diagnosis / prognosis out of the hands of the 8th generation Chinese Doctor, whose family / teachers have worked with the plant, or the local consultation of the herbalist who will work with you in providing an accurate plan concerning contraindications, and stamped it on a label, plastered it on the back of a bottle, and sold it as the next cure-all. When big business becomes involved, such things occur, across all sectors.

Thanks!
The main problem I have is as you say that the antivaccine activists use the inserts as "proof of causation", and will never accept that they are merely proof of association when the studies were meticulously done. I am involved in some studies, and as an example of how this works in practice, one patient recently had a myocardial infarction in hospital whilst on a trial for a new drug.
The "adverse event" had to be meticulously investigated and documented and will undoubtedly contribute to a future drug information sheet if the drug gets licenced as an "adverse event" linked to the drug.
But here is the rub....the patient was recruited and enrolled into the study, but had the MI before getting the trial medication. In other words this is clearly coincidental and no way could it ever have been causal. This will be recorded in the trial data as such, but will forever be exist as an “adverse event”.

But here is the rub….the patient was recruited and enrolled into the study, but had the MI before getting the trial medication. In other words this is clearly coincidental and no way could it ever have been causal. This will be recorded in the trial data as such, but will forever be exist as an “adverse event”.

Do you have any evidence that it does? And personal anecdotes don't count for squat.

As I have stated a number of times, I do not state opinions (unless I say "opinion" in the title). I state hypotheses or theories supported by evidence.

Here's an opinion based on the observations of the laughable attempts by dope smokers to show that there is a medical benefit–they invent shit so that they can get high legally. Well, I think that pot should be legal. But I would suggest anyone who needs to smoke pot or drink alcohol or snort coke just to get through life needs a psychiatrist. Period.

You may want to believe that pot treats autism. Bring real scientific evidence in the form of clinical trials published in real scientific, peer-reviewed, high impact factor journals. Then I might even write about it, because that would be fascinating.

But don't pull the strawman out about what I know and don't know. What I know about autism and neurological disorders would be considered impressive. And don't throw the bullshit about not being a parent of an autistic child as a reason why I cannot demand scientific evidence that dope smoking treats autism. I can. And besides what you know and don't know about me personally and my children would make your strawman even more pathetic.

Bill Van Dyke Oh well. I'll live knowing that all life on earth evolved from a common ancestor about 1.5 billion years ago (possibly longer). And the great thing about science is that it CAN answer every question about the universe. Your god is getting such a small amount of the gap in knowledge. It's irrelevant.

There is no evidence for any of the 3400 gods that every claims to exist. It's not a pronouncement, presumptuous or otherwise. Those of you who pronounce the existence of gods are the ones who are presumptuous considering you've never brought one stitch of evidence. This is a science-y blog, and if you don't have evidence, I get to just plainly ignore it.

Michael Simpson - Thank you for sharing you atheistic lump; I mean that in a good kind of way . . . can't wait till you awaken. But to say there is no God is a pronouncement far more presumptuous than this present argument about the benefits of a banana.
